Investment basis and incentives The following are the main investment elements available at the governorate: 1. Abundant production of high quality rice, cotton and wheat. 2. Cultivation of sugar beet over about 87 feddans. 3. Abundant production of fish. 4. Reclaimed areas suitable for fisheries. 5. Fertile agricultural lands. 6. Two industrial zones, one in Balteem covering 114 feddans and the other in Motobas covering 1160 feddans. 2. An investment department to solve investors' problems . 3. Land plots provided with utilities in the industrial zones. 4. Public transportation lines which connect the industrial zones with cities and urban communities. Investment opportunities The following industries are available for establishment of investment projects: 1. fodder. 2. Petrochemicals complex in Motobas industrial zone. 3. Food products.

Tourism Area:

Investment basis and incentives The governorate is rich in its monuments and tourist attraction sites such as : 1. Burullus natural protectorate that extends over 103000 feddans and has different kinds of flowers and plants baside hunting migrating birds. 2. Balteem beach. 3. Monumental and historical areas in the area of Ghalion Swamp which is the merging point of the Nile with the Miditerranean waters. 4. The coastal strip extending along the international coastal road. Investment opportunities The following areas are available for establishment of tourism projects: 1. Hotels and tourist villages. 2. Tourist attraction sites in Ghalion swamp. 3. Tourist camps and hotels along the international coastal road. 4. Services station such as gas station, coffee-shops to serve the users of the international coastal road. 5.
